Join us in rescuing and rehabilitating French Bulldogs.
They're the most popular dog of the year, and you don't have to go to a breeder to find one. Please take the time to read this very important article written by Sean Zucker, March 19, 2025. Use the link below!
Independent SoCal French Bulldog Rescue (SCFBR), founded by Debra Munt, is a charitable organization dedicated to rescuing French Bulldogs. SCFBR started out as a sub-rescue to SoCal Bulldog Rescue (SCBR). As the rising popularity of French Bulldogs began to rise, SCBR started to receive numerous online surrender forms for French Bulldogs. Because Debra Munt was involved in showing and raising French Bulldogs, the Directors at SCBR asked if she could find homes for those French Bulldogs, after their medical rehabilitation. This went on for several years until the quantity of French Bulldogs needing rescue grew to a tipping point! At that time, SCBR helped Debra Munt create Independent SoCal French Bulldog Rescue, Inc., along with helping her to secure a 501c3 non-profit designation. SCFBR received the 501(c)(3) non-profit approval on May 29, 2023. SCFBR currently rescues over 35-40 frenchies each year.
Our mission is to rescue sick, injured, and unwanted French Bulldogs, medically rehabilitate them, and find
them loving, forever homes.
We are forever committed to the education of the unknowing public, breeders, and buyers alike.
Our team consists of our Founder and President, Debra Munt and volunteers who are passionate about animal welfare, especially the French Bulldog breed. We strive to provide the best care, foster homes and forever homes possible for each animal that comes into our care. SCFBR relies solely on volunteers to staff our organization and achieve our mission through fundraising, social media, transport, administrative tasks, foster homes, and adoptions.
SCFBR is a small rescue and we do not have a centralized location. We are strictly foster home based. Because we are not veterinarians or trained specialists, we are not able to give any medical advice for animals that are not in our rescue. However, we work closely with our trusted veterinarians who help guide us on our mission to provide the best individualized medical treatment and rehabilitation plan for the animals in our care.
By donating, you directly support the rescue, care, and rehoming of French Bulldogs in need. Thank you for your generosity.
